Arunachal Dy CM inaugurates new WRD Sub-Divisional Office at Chongkham

Itanagar, June 18 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein today inaugurated the Sub-Divisional Office of the Water Resources Department (WRD) at Chongkham and the Junior Engineer Office at Wakro, marking a significant boost to infrastructure development in his constituency.
Funded under the RE (Revised Estimate) scheme, the new office buildings are expected to enhance coordination, streamline field surveys, and uplift the morale of WRD personnel working in remote locations.
Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Chief Minister emphasised the need for a robust and responsive administrative framework to meet the aspirations of a rapidly developing Arunachal Pradesh.
“Decentralisation is the key to ensuring that development reaches the last mile. By empowering field offices with better infrastructure, we are accelerating the pace of execution and improving responsiveness,” he remarked.
During the visit, the Deputy CM also reviewed the progress of various ongoing projects under WRD, with the Executive Engineer of WRD delivering a detailed presentation on the department’s initiatives in the region.
Urging officials to adopt an output-oriented and professional work culture, Mein called on the district administration and heads of departments to focus on discipline, efficiency, and a service-driven approach to governance.
Present on the occasion were Member of Parliament Tapir Gao, Namsai MLA Chow Zingnu Namchoom, Lohit ZPC Dasulu Krishikro, Namsai Deputy Commissioner CR Khampa, ZPM Jenia Namchoom, Namsai district Superintendent of Police S Thinley, and other senior Govt officials. UNI TD SSP
