Arunachal Guv chairs special Cabinet meeting marking one year of State Govt

Itanagar, June 13 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt General (Retd) KT Parnaik chaired a special Cabinet meeting at the Chief Minister’s Office, Niti Vihar here on Friday to commemorate the completion of one year of the present State Government.
Congratulating Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, and the entire Cabinet, the Governor lauded their commitment to public service, last-mile delivery, and inclusive governance. He commended the administration for ensuring that development and welfare schemes effectively reached its intended beneficiaries, even in the most remote corners of the State.
The Governor conveyed his heartfelt appreciation to the Government of India under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, highlighting India’s rise as the world’s 4th largest economy and the successful execution of Operation Sindoor, a stellar example of the nation’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding its people.
The Governor said that the past one year has been a period of unprecedented growth and responsive governance, enabled by the synergy of the Double Engine Govt, a powerful confluence of visionary leadership at the Centre and resolute action at the State level.
Guided by the mantra of ‘Reform, Perform, Transform’, he said, the State Government has undertaken inclusive development, targeting the welfare of the Garib (poor), Yuva (youth), Annadata (farmers), and Nari (women). “Through focused investments in connectivity, healthcare, education, social protection, tourism, and livelihood creation, the State Government has expanded the reach of governance to every household, including even the most remote areas of our State.”
Aligned with Viksit Bharat @2047, the Governor emphasized the State’s active role in building a resilient, future-ready Arunachal Pradesh, contributing to India’s $5 trillion economy goal.
“We are building a resilient and future-ready state, contributing actively to India’s journey towards a $5 trillion economy. Our efforts are driven not just by scale, but by impact — ensuring that the last person in the line is the first in our priority,” he said.
Citing the success of flagship Seva Aapke Dwar 1.0 and 2.0 initiatives, reaching over 15 lakh beneficiaries with doorstep delivery of services, the Governor announced that Seva Aapke Dwar 3.0 will further deepen this commitment, ensuring saturation coverage and closing the last-mile gap.
Calling the past year a reflection of service, integrity, and inclusive governance, he acknowledged the contributions of government officials and field-level functionaries - the backbone of the administration - and stressed the need for continued transparency, accountability, and zero tolerance for corruption.
The Governor also advocated for the integration of technology and Artificial Intelligence into governance — from Circle level to the State Secretariat — to enable data-driven decision-making and improved public service.
He identified Education, Health, Infrastructure, and Tourism as the four critical pillars of sustainable growth and urged the Cabinet to continue focusing on these sectors to uplift citizens’ quality of life. He also expressed concern over land encroachments, urging corrective action.
As the Government embarks on its second year, the Governor encouraged the Cabinet to pursue a bolder, more compassionate and people-first agenda, reinforcing Arunachal’s contribution to the national vision of a developed India.
The meeting concluded with a two-minute silence in memory of those who lost their lives in the tragic Air India flight crash in Ahmedabad on Thursday. The Cabinet expressed condolences and solidarity with the bereaved families.
Earlier in the session, Planning and Investment Commissioner Ankur Garg presented a detailed presentation on the Government’s growth, achievements, and reforms over the past year.
