Arunachal Guv stresses empathy, exposure for officer trainees in Northeast

Itanagar, June 20 (UNI) The Director of Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie, Sriram Taranikanti called on Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt General
(Retd) KT Parnaik at Raj Bhavan here on Friday.
During the interaction, the Director shared the Academy’s vision of nurturing civil servants to be ethical, efficient, and empathetic administrators, and its commitment to inclusive development and service to all regions, including the Northeast.
Appreciating the Academy’s efforts, the Governor urged for a greater focus on empathy and cultural sensitivity, particularly for officers working in tribal, remote, and border areas.
He suggested increasing exposure of officer trainees to border states like Arunachal Pradesh, noting that such experiences foster a deeper understanding of national security concerns, development challenges, and local aspirations.
Highlighting the importance of preparedness for service in sensitive regions, Governor Parnaik recommended the inclusion of inter-agency coordination modules in training programmes.
He emphasized the need for administrators capable of driving transformation in aspirational districts, ensuring the benefits reach the last mile.
He also stressed on cultivating emotional intelligence, moral courage, and adaptive leadership to enable young officers to navigate the complex demands of modern governance.
Governor Parnaik emphasized the importance of building resilience and emotional well-being among trainees.
Expressing his support, the Governor assured the Director of Raj Bhavan’s and the State Government’s willingness to collaborate with LBSNAA on institutional exchange, mentorship,
and field training opportunities for young officers.
In response, the visiting Director assured the Governor of LBSNAA’s full support in strengthening Arunachal’s administrative capacity and reaffirmed the Academy’s commitment to assisting the
State Government in all possible ways to enhance governance outcomes.
