Itanagar, June 25 (UNI) In a major stride towards strengthening the educational infrastructure and governance in Arunachal Pradesh, the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) today signed an agreement with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Regional Office, Guwahati, for setting up a temporary CBSE Sub-Regional Office in Itanagar.
The office will be housed within the SCERT campus at Gohpur Tinali, Chimpu. The Government of Arunachal Pradesh has allotted a dedicated space of 1,720 square feet in the old SCERT building to facilitate this initiative, underscoring its commitment to improving service delivery for CBSE-affiliated schools across the state.
Starting from the academic year 2025-26, this Sub-Regional Office will handle all CBSE-related matters exclusively for schools in Arunachal Pradesh. The office will be headed by J Pankaj Bage, CBSE Sub-Regional Officer, Itanagar.
The establishment of the Sub-Regional Office in the state capital marks a significant step towards ensuring more efficient, accessible, and locally responsive CBSE services. It is expected to greatly benefit schools, educators, and students by enabling quicker redressal of academic and administrative issues and strengthening coordination with CBSE authorities, officials said.
