The government has opened 190 relief camps to house and shelter the flood victims in different flood hit districts and 215 relief distribution centres to ensure that the flood affected people get the required food grains and other basic items.

"Two persons died due to flooding in the last 24 hours including one in Nagaon and another in Cachar districts," said an official of the ASDMA adding that 41,000 people have taken shelter in the relief camps.

"The district administrations have been put on alert and asked to render all possible help to the flood hit people," he said.
