Ayushmann Khurrana to explore two contrasting worlds, from patriotic comedy to family drama

Mumbai, Sep 24 (UNI) Actor Ayushmann Khurrana is set to take on two very different worlds in his next films, moving from a spy comedy with a patriotic streak to a musical family drama.
He will first be seen alongside Sara Ali Khan in "Udta Teer", directed by Aakash Kaushik. After this, he will be seen in Sooraj Barjatya's musical family drama "Yeh Prem Mol Liya" opposite Sharvari Wagh.
Produced by Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment, "Udta Teer" is set against the backdrop of espionage. The film will feature high-stakes patriotic action with a dash of comedy. Khurrana is at the centre of the film's unpredictable story.
Meanwhile, "Yeh Prem Mol Liya" marks the 42-year-old actor's first collaboration with Sooraj Barjatya. The film marks his new pairing with Wagh. The film's story of family, love, and relationships is presented with music composed by Himesh Reshammiya.
Khurrana said that from his first film onwards, he wanted to surprise audiences and challenge himself as an actor. He said he never limited himself to any one image or genre. From social comedies, love stories, and intense dramas to patriotic comedies and musical family dramas, each film is an opportunity for him to explore a new emotion and a different facet of his personality.
The actor said that "Udta Teer" and "Yeh Prem Mol Liya" are completely different experiences for him, and the contrast between the two films is what attracted him. According to him, one film takes him into the world of comedy and humour based on patriotism, while the other is rooted in the warmth, emotions, and music of a family drama.
Along with social comedy, romance, drama and action, the "Dum Laga Ke Haisa" actor's filmography is now going to include patriotic comedy and musical family drama.
Khurrana says that for him, versatility is not just about changing genres, but about finding the truth of each character and making the audience feel something new every time.
