Baku, June 2 (UNI) Azerbaijan's national minifootball team was crowned world champion for the first time on Sunday, defeating Hungary 4-2 in the final of the Minifootball World Cup held in the capital, Baku.
Led by head coach Elshad Guliyev, Azerbaijan delivered a confident performance against the Hungarian side, backed by enthusiastic support from the home crowd.
In the third-place playoff, Serbia beat Montenegro 3-0 in a commanding display to claim the bronze medal.
The Minifootball World Cup, organized biennially by the World Minifootball Federation (WMF), is the sport's most prestigious 6-a-side competition, showcasing top global talent.
