Balkaur Singh seeks to stop screening of BBC documentary on late son Sidhu Moosewala

Chandigarh, June 7 (UNI) Balkaur Singh, father of slain singer Sidhu Moosewala, has sent a legal notice to British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) to restrain them from screening a documentary on Moosewala, who was killed in 2022.
The notice, sent through a Punjab and Haryana High Court advocate, says that the investigation into the murder of his son is not over, and the said "Investigative" documentary might constitute interference with active legal proceedings.
The notice also says that the documentary might cause misrepresentation of facts and defamation of the deceased and the family.
The notice also says that no consent - written or otherwise - has been granted to BBC or any third party to create, publish, exhibit, promote or commercially exploit any story, footage, content, likeness or name of the late Sidhu Moosewala.
The notice says that the documentary represents an "unauthorised and an unethical intrusion into personal and legal affairs of him and his deceased son".
Balkaur Singh, has also written a letter to DGP, Maharashtra as the documentary screening is supposed to be held at Soho House, Juhu, Mumbai on June 11.
