Baramati: Double murder of two women shocks Sherewadi

Baramati, Sep 29 (UNI) The brutal murder of two women, by slitting their throats, in Sherewadi village of Baramati taluka has sent shockwaves across the area.
The deceased have been identified as Krishnabai Ladkat and Indumati Ladkat.
The incident came to light in the early hours today, following which police rushed to the spot and launched an investigation.
According to preliminary information, the two women were attacked with a sharp weapon. They sustained severe injuries to their necks and died as a result.
A police team conducted a preliminary inspection of the crime scene and began collecting evidence.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination.
The motive behind the double murder remains unclear.
Police are investigating various possibilities, including a personal dispute or previous enmity, while also examining other angles.
Statements of local residents and people acquainted with the victims are being recorded as part of the investigation.
Police are also examining available evidence from the area and other leads to identify the assailant or assailants.
The double murder has created an atmosphere of fear and concern in Sherewadi and neighbouring areas.
