Bengal Congress leader Adhir Chowdhury targets NCPI MPs, questions their right to continue in LS

Kolkata, Sep 28 (UNI) Senior Congress leader and former MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has launched a sharp attack on the 20 Trinamool Congress rebel MPs who have joined the Nationalist Citizens Party of India (NCPI), questioning both the political propriety and legal basis of their continuing as members of the Lok Sabha.
Addressing a Press conference on Monday, Chowdhury alleged that the MPs had secured their Lok Sabha mandates on the votes of the people as TMC candidates but subsequently moved to the NCPI and extended support to the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance.
He described the development as a serious issue of political morality and demanded that the MPs be removed from Parliament through due constitutional and legal procedures.
