Bengal: Two held over fake birth certificate issued to Afghan national

Siliguri, Sep 24 (UNI) Kalimpong police have arrested two persons, including an employee of Mal Municipality, in connection with an allegedly fake birth certificate prepared for an Afghan national arrested for staying illegally in India.
The arrests followed the detention of 28-year-old Syed Bilal Khan, a resident of Kabul, Afghanistan, by Kalimpong police on September 18. Khan was reportedly staying in rented accommodation near Chest Clinic at Hatbazar in Kalimpong and was allegedly found without valid documents.
During the investigation, police raided the Malbazar police station area and arrested P. Dutta, a clerk of Mal Municipality, for his alleged role in preparing the certificate. Police said Dutta told investigators that a middleman from Meteli had assisted him.
Acting on the information, police later arrested Asam Khan from Meteli, who allegedly acted as an intermediary.
Further investigation is underway to identify others involved and ascertain how the forged document was prepared and used.

Over 1 14L Ayushman cards in Nagaland yet to be linked with Aadhaar

Dimapur, Sep 24 (UNI) The Nagaland Health Protection Society (NHPS), under the state health and family welfare department, on Thursday said an analysis of beneficiary records in the beneficiary identification system has revealed that more than 1.14 lakh Ayushman beneficiary cards in the state have not yet been linked with Aadhaar.
