Bihar: RJD to continue ‘Save Democracy’ campaign for CEC resignation

Patna, Oct 2 (UNI) The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Thursday announced to continue its “Save Democracy” campaign until res8gnation of the Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
The party made the announcement during a programme organised on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti at the Mahatma Gandhi statue in Gandhi Maidan, Patna. The RJD said it would conduct a nationwide agitation from October 2 to 8 over its demand.
RJD state spokesperson Ejaz Ahmad said the agitation would continue until the Chief Election Commissioner steps down. He said that on October 6, MPs from both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, along with leaders and workers of the INDIA bloc, would march to the Election Commission office in New Delhi.
He said the RJD has been raising concerns over the functioning of the Election Commission and has previously staged protests in Bihar demanding greater transparency and accountability in the electoral process.
Several RJD and INDIA bloc leaders and workers attended the Gandhi Jayanti programme, including former minister Alok Kumar Mehta and others.
