Patna, Oct 29 (UNI) The Startup Cell of the Lalit Narayan Mishra Institute of Economic Development and Social Change (LNMI), Patna, in collaboration with the Government of Bihar and Startup Bihar, organised a special awareness programme, titled “Startup-Bank Connect: Ensuring Access to Financial Assistance for Startups”, today.
The aim of the programme was to familiarise aspiring entrepreneurs and students with the Bihar Startup Policy, banking facilities, financial assistance, government schemes and various entrepreneurial opportunities.
Around 85 to 100 students participated in the programme, which was organised to strengthen the startup ecosystem and improve coordination between startup founders and banking institutions.
The programme commenced with an opening address by Ritu Narayan, who welcomed and felicitated the guests. She highlighted the importance of promoting entrepreneurship, fostering innovation among students and encouraging young people to transform their ideas into successful businesses.
Atul Kumar, General Manager of the District Industries Centre (DIC), Patna, elaborated on various aspects of the Bihar government''s startup policy. He discussed the process of establishing a startup, procedures for availing government assistance, opportunities available to entrepreneurs and initiatives aimed at promoting a startup culture in the state. He encouraged students to develop their business ideas systematically and make effective use of available government support.
Pankaj Kumar, Manager of Indian Bank at the LNMI campus in Patna, spoke about the crucial role of banking in the startup journey. He emphasised financial management, access to capital, banking services and proper financial planning. He also explained bank loans, financial assistance options, government schemes, required documentation, project reports and the importance of a well-prepared business plan.
Startup Coordinator Jyotish Shankar played an important role in explaining the provisions and procedures under the Bihar Startup Policy. He discussed startup identification, registration and recognition processes, the development of innovation-driven business ideas and the preparations required to obtain government assistance. He encouraged students to explore available opportunities and convert their ideas into viable business models.
A major highlight of the programme was an interactive session in which successful startup entrepreneurs shared their experiences. Aditya Manas, Nikita Agrawal and Rupa Kumari spoke about their entrepreneurial journeys, business experiences, challenges, innovations, market requirements and lessons learnt while establishing their ventures.
Their experiences helped students understand that transforming an idea into a successful business requires proper planning, sustained efforts, an understanding of customer needs and effective utilisation of financial resources.
The programme emphasised that startup success depends not only on a promising idea but also on access to finance, mentorship, networking, institutional support and markets. Better coordination with banking institutions and government departments can provide aspiring entrepreneurs with essential information and opportunities to grow their businesses.
The Startup Cell of LNMI, Patna, has been making continuous efforts to promote innovation, entrepreneurship and self-employment among students. Such initiatives provide students with opportunities to interact directly with experts, banking representatives, government officials and successful entrepreneurs.
The programme concluded with the message that coordinated efforts involving government support, banking facilities, innovation and entrepreneurial mentorship can help build a strong and self-reliant startup ecosystem in Bihar.
