BJD slams Odisha govt for failing to resolve core border dispute with AP

Bhubaneswar, June 7 (UNI) The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has criticised the BJP government in Odisha for failing to resolve the core border dispute with Andhra Pradesh.
BJD general secretary and spokesperson Pradeep Majhi launched a scathing attack on the Mohan Majhi-led BJP government for merely holding high-level meetings on the Kotia gram panchayat issues, rather than taking concrete action.
The BJD leader pointed out that nearly a year into its tenure, the state government has remained silent on the Kotia matter, only now convening a high-level meeting.
He noted that while Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari spoke about developing basic infrastructure in Kotia, he remained silent on addressing the core border dispute.
BJD spokesperson Dr Lenin Mohanty accused the BJP-led Odisha government of spending the past year indulging in ceremonial showmanship.
He stated that crucial issues like Kotia and Polavaram have seen no official response from the BJP in the past year.
While the BJP plans statewide celebrations to mark its one year in power, Mohanty said the sudden and superficial high-level meeting on Kotia appears to be merely symbolic.
Majhi described Pujari’s statement on developing Kotia’s infrastructure as nothing but an optical illusion, as the real issue — the unresolved border dispute — remains completely unaddressed.
