BJP calls Karnataka Cong a 'syndicate thriving on dirty tricks'

Bengaluru, Oct 24 (UNI) Karnataka BJP leader R. Ashoka on Saturday accused the ruling Congress of functioning like a "syndicate thriving on dirty tricks", alleging that internal rivalries, covert recordings and blackmail were being used by party leaders to settle scores and secure political positions.
Reacting to the ongoing controversy over alleged sting operations within the Congress, Ashoka claimed that the developments had exposed a pattern of conspiracies and backstabbing within the ruling party.
"The KPCC is no longer a political party — it is a syndicate thriving on dirty tricks," he alleged, accusing Congress leaders of targeting their own colleagues in the pursuit of power and influence.
Ashoka alleged that ministers and other party leaders were using secret sting operations to blackmail colleagues, influence ticket distribution and settle personal scores.
Taking aim at Congress MP and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Ashoka questioned whether the party's much-publicised slogan, 'Mohabbat Ki Dukaan', had given way to what he described as a "Sting Operation Ki Dukaan".
He also questioned whether the alleged activities were compatible with the Congress government's guarantee model and criticised Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar over the developments, alleging that the government had failed to address the controversy.
Ashoka alleged that the Congress was witnessing an intense internal struggle, with leaders conspiring against one another to retain positions and undermine rivals. He warned that the controversy could have political consequences for the ruling party.
The allegations have intensified the political confrontation between the BJP and Congress in Karnataka amid the ongoing row over alleged sting operations and internal party rivalry. The claims made by Ashoka could not be independently verified.
