BJP facing growing opposition across country: TPCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud

Hyderabad, Oct 29 (UNI) TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud on Thursday claimed that the BJP was facing growing opposition across the country, citing its defeats and setbacks in several MLC elections, including Varanasi and Nagpur.
Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan, he said the results reflected growing discontent among educated voters, teachers, graduates and youth against the BJP’s governance.
Goud pointed out that the Congress won the Nagpur Graduates’ MLC seat, while opposition parties secured victories in Varanasi, Lucknow, Patna and Pune. He said the BJP’s narrow victory by 307 votes in the Gorakhpur-Faizabad Teachers’ constituency also indicated a changing political mood.
Accusing the BJP of applying double standards while interpreting election results, he challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take responsibility for the party’s setbacks and address the issues at a press conference. He expressed confidence that the INDIA alliance, under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership, would defeat the BJP in the coming elections.
Goud also alleged that the BJP was attempting to obstruct people from attending the INDIA alliance’s November 1 protest in Delhi against alleged voter deletions. He said people from Telangana and other parts of the country would participate in the protest and demanded the restoration of the 13.3 crore votes he claimed had been removed from electoral rolls.
