BJP MP Raghunandan Rao receives threat call allegedly from Maoists

Hyderabad, June 23 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament Raghunandan
Rao received a threatening call on Monday from an unidentified individual claiming to be a
Maoist.

The caller reportedly warned that Rao would be killed by the evening of the same day.

The incident occurred while Raghunandan Rao was attending a program at a school in
Dammaiguda, Medchal–Malkajgiri district. The caller, who claimed to be calling from Madhya Pradesh, made the threat over the phone, which was answered by the MP’s personal assistant.
Following the call, Rao lodged complaints with the Director General of Police (DGP), the Medak Superintendent of Police (SP), and other senior officials. Police are currently investigating the
source and authenticity of the threat.
Security has been stepped up around the MP as a precautionary measure, police sources said.
