BJP's Padyatra is a political stunt to mislead public & hide its failures: UPCC president Aradhana

Lucknow, Nov 2 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee President and MLA Aradhana Mishra "Mona" criticized the BJP's proposed "Save Democracy - Remove Anarchy" Padyatra in the state, starting from tomorrow, calling it a political stunt to divert public attention from real issues.
She said that the BJP's position has become such that when people chase a thief, he himself starts shouting "thief, thief." The BJP is organizing such events to protect Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and cover up its own misdeeds.
In a statement issued by the party on Monday, Mishra said that the BJP is alarmed by the historic success of the India Alliance's "Save Vote - Save Country" mega rally. This is why it is trying to divert public attention from real issues by organizing a Padyatra. The conscious people of the state are understanding this BJP politics.
She said that lakhs of people from across the country, including Uttar Pradesh, had gathered at the mega rally to listen to top Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha. This public support is causing the BJP to panic.
Raising the issue of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists, the Congress state president said that the discovery of major irregularities in the voter list in Pilibhit and the suspension of two officials has increased the likelihood of such irregularities throughout the state.
She alleged that Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar's team is suspected of making irregularities in the voter lists at the behest of the central government.
She said that Congress workers are reviewing voter lists in every district of the state. The BJP is organizing a march to divert public attention from these issues.
Mishra said that the true protection of democracy is possible only when constitutional institutions function independently, without any political pressure. Congress will continue to raise its voice in the public interest, from the streets to the House, against the anti-people policies of the Modi and Yogi governments and their alleged attempts to weaken democratic institutions.
