BJP stages protest in all 264 blocks of Jharkhand against Hemant govt

Ranchi, June 24 (UNI) After giving a six-month reprieve post the state Assembly polls, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday took to the streets and staged protests in all 264 block offices across Jharkhand against the Hemant Soren government.

The protests were led by state BJP President and Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi, Acting state President Dr Ravindra Kumar Rai, former Chief Minister Champai Soren, state General Secretary and MP Aditya Sahu, former Leader of Opposition Amar Kumar Bauri, MPs, MLAs, and state office-bearers.

During the protests, party workers raised slogans against the state government's failures, addressed the public, and submitted memoranda.

In Giridih district, Babulal Marandi led the protests at the Tisri and Gawan block offices, where he strongly criticised the state government for its failures. He said that the Hemant government is "anti-tribal, anti-Dalit, anti-women, anti-farmer, and anti-youth".

Marandi alleged that the government is allowing middlemen to loot the state's mines and minerals, while the poor are struggling to get sand for building their homes.

He also claimed that officials are demanding a commission of up to Rs 25,000 for housing schemes, and the poor are not getting sand for construction. UNI XC AKT SSP
