Bomb threats target Amitabh Bachchan's Juhu residence, Diljit Dosanjh's concert venue in Mumbai

Mumbai, Oct 23 (UNI) Fresh bomb threats targeting Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan and singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh have raised security concerns in Mumbai, with the threatening messages reportedly naming Bachchan's residence in Juhu, the venue of Dosanjh's upcoming concert at Mahalaxmi and schools in Dadar.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Maneesh Kalwaniya said the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had received a threatening email.
Security checks were subsequently carried out, but no suspicious object was found, according to the police officer.
Bachchan's bungalow, Jalsa, in Juhu, was reportedly among the locations mentioned in the threat.
The other location mentioned was the Mahalaxmi concert venue, where Dosanjh is scheduled to perform on November 27, 2026.
The reported threats to schools in Dadar have added to concerns over the security of public places and educational institutions in the city.
The authorities have been alerted to the messages, although the available information does not establish whether all the threats originated from the same source.
The development comes amid heightened concern over alleged intimidation targeting Bollywood personalities and reports of criminal gangs attempting to threaten people associated with the film industry. However, no evidence has so far been made public establishing a connection between the latest bomb threats and any organised criminal group.
The identity of the sender or senders, the precise origin of the threatening emails and the motive behind them remain unknown.
Meanwhile, the Mumbai Mayor's office received a threatening email claiming a grenade attack on a school on October 31.
The email reportedly makes references to Khalistan and mentions the names of certain organisations. The contents of the message have prompted the authorities to initiate an investigation to determine the credibility of the threats and identify the person or persons responsible for sending it.
According to police, efforts are underway to trace the origin of the email and establish the identity of its sender. Investigators are also examining the contents of the message to ascertain whether it represents a genuine security threat or is an attempt to spread panic.
Further details regarding the investigation, the nature of the security arrangements at the locations mentioned and any additional action taken by the authorities were awaited.
Azad Maidan police station and crime branch are investigating the case.
