CBSE national science exhibition on AI and green energy: Registration open until Nov 14

Panchkula, Oct 29 (UNI) The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will organise a nationwide science exhibition for students of Classes 6 to 11 between November 2026 and January 2027, providing young innovators an opportunity to showcase scientific models and practical solutions to challenges in healthcare, agriculture, environmental protection and rural development.
The CBSE Science Exhibition 2026-27 will be conducted in two stages, beginning with regional competitions across the country, followed by a national-level exhibition featuring selected projects.
The exhibition will focus on the theme "STEM for Science, Technology, and Innovation for a Sustainable and Vikshit Bharat", with seven sub-themes covering artificial intelligence, green energy, mathematical modelling, health and sanitation, indigenous agricultural practices, rural transformation and disaster management.
"The activity aims to provide a platform to students to demonstrate the construction of knowledge by connecting new ideas to existing concepts," the board said .
Students will compete in two categories — Classes 6 to 8 and Classes 9 to 11. Each school can nominate a maximum of two teams, comprising up to two students and one science teacher as mentor per team.
The projects may include scientific investigations, technological applications and innovative designs addressing practical problems. CBSE has directed students to use environmentally friendly materials while preparing their exhibits.
The entries will be evaluated by experts, with 20 per cent weightage assigned to creativity and imagination, while originality, scientific approach, technical skills and educational value will carry 15 per cent each.
Up to 14 outstanding projects from each regional venue will qualify for the national exhibition, subject to the quality of entries.
The best projects at the national level will receive awards, while the winners will be considered for participation in the NCERT's Rashtriya Bal Vaigyaanik Pradarshani 2027, subject to selection.
CBSE has fixed November 14 as the last date for schools to register online, pay the prescribed fee of Rs 3,000 and submit project details.
The board has asked affiliated schools to encourage students to participate and ensure their safety during the exhibitions.
