With this objective, the state government is paying special attention to expanding irrigation facilities, promoting modern agricultural technology and developing new opportunities for agriculture based livelihoods.
He said that activities such as organic farming, natural farming, horticulture, animal husbandry and fisheries are being encouraged alongside traditional farming. These activities would provide farmers with additional sources of income and strengthen the rural economy.
