Chhattisgarh: Special Financial Inclusion Campaign to Reach Every Eligible Beneficiary from October 21

Raipur, Oct 12 (UNI) A special saturation campaign to extend the benefits of key financial inclusion schemes to every eligible beneficiary will be conducted from October 21 to December 31, under the initiative of the Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance, Government of India.
Special camps will be organised in every Gram Panchayat and urban local body to connect people who lack access to banking services and ensure that eligible beneficiaries can avail themselves of financial inclusion and social security schemes.
The campaign will focus on enrolling eligible citizens under the Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and Atal Pension Yojana. It will also seek to improve access to banking services for vulnerable sections of society, including families belonging to Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs).
At least one camp will be organised in every Gram Panchayat and urban local body during the campaign to ensure comprehensive coverage. The camps will facilitate the opening of new bank accounts under the Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana and enrolment of eligible citizens under the life insurance, accident insurance and pension schemes.
Special attention will be given to connecting families from Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups with banking services and ensuring that eligible beneficiaries are not left out of the financial inclusion process.
The camps will provide facilities for opening new Jan-Dhan accounts, reactivating inactive accounts and completing re-KYC formalities for existing Jan-Dhan and other savings bank accounts. Beneficiaries will also be able to complete Aadhaar-linking procedures for the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana.
Other services will include generating a Central KYC Identifier for bank accounts where it is pending and updating nominee details for savings accounts, lockers and other banking facilities, wherever required. These measures are intended to help citizens access banking services smoothly and keep their accounts and related records up to date.
The campaign will also promote financial literacy, safe digital transactions and awareness of cyber fraud. Citizens will receive information about the available schemes and guidance on the enrolment procedures and requirements.
For enrolment under the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, beneficiaries’ explicit consent will be mandatory for deduction of insurance premiums from their bank accounts.
The campaign will be conducted under the overall guidance of the District Collector. The Lead District Manager will coordinate with commercial banks, Regional Rural Banks, cooperative banks and India Post Payments Bank to ensure the organisation of camps.
The District Level Consultative Committee will determine the dates and venues of the camps. Efforts will also be made to involve elected panchayat representatives, panchayat secretaries, self-help groups, banking correspondents, customer service centres and officials and employees of the concerned departments.
The campaign is expected to expand access to banking services and social security schemes for eligible citizens in both rural and urban areas.
By addressing gaps in account access, documentation, insurance and pension enrolment, the initiative aims to strengthen financial security, particularly among economically weaker households and people who remain outside the formal banking system. UNI SRC CDS
