Chinar Corps Commander reviews security in north Kashmir

Srinagar, July 1 (UNI) The General Officer Commanding of Army’s Srinagar based Chinar Corps, Lieutenant General Prashant Srivastava, today reviewed the counter terrorism grid in North Kashmir where he was briefed on the operational dynamics, prevailing security scenario and the combat readiness.
The Army said the Corps Commander also held an interaction with the troops.
“Chinar Corps Commander reviewed counter terrorism grid in North Kashmir, during which he was briefed upon operational dynamics, prevailing security situation and combat readiness,” Army’s most sensitive Corps said in a post on X.
“During interaction with troops, he emphasised upon the importance of operational excellence, strategic foresight and continuous training in neutralising emerging security threats,” it added.
Lt Gen Srivastava reviewed the security in the north, just a day ahead of annual Amarnath Yatra for which unprecedented security has been made across J&K. In north Kashmir, the Yatra passes through only one district of Bandipora.
The pilgrimage will begin from July three to August nine this year. Every year, lakhs of pilgrims make the journey to the Himalayan cave shrine, which is accessible via the popular tourist destinations of Pahalgam and Sonmarg.
