CM assures to resolve issues of Un-aided teachers in Bihar

Patna, Sep 20 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Sunday assured unaided teachers and their representatives that the government would hold discussions with them and take steps to resolve their problems.
Addressing a felicitation ceremony organised for unaided teachers, Choudhary said a committee had already been constituted to examine and address their issues.
The Chief Minister said the time had come to realise the vision of a developed India and a prosperous Bihar.
He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had envisioned a developed India, while former Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had envisioned a prosperous Bihar, and all stakeholders would have to work together to achieve these goals.
Highlighting Bihar's historical legacy, Choudhary said the state had played a significant role in the country's history and that the administrative system of a large part of the country had once been governed from the land of Magadh.
He said Bihar's economy and infrastructure had undergone significant changes since 2005. Referring to the financial position of Bihar and Jharkhand after their bifurcation, he said Bihar's budget had now moved well ahead of that of Jharkhand.
According to figures cited by him, Jharkhand presented a budget of Rs 1.39 lakh crore in 2024, while Bihar''s budget stood at Rs 3.17 lakh crore.
Choudhary said improving the education system had remained a priority of the government. Under the Student Credit Card scheme, financial assistance was being provided to students pursuing higher education, he said.
He said that after the formation of the new government, teaching commenced simultaneously in 211 degree colleges in Bihar on July 15, while 2,500 assistant professors were recruited at one go.
"The government's objective is that Bihar's children should be able to pursue their education within the state and that quality teachers should always be available to them," he said.
The Chief Minister said 700 model schools, described as Saraswati Vidya Niketans, had been established, with around 3.5 lakh students studying there.
He said 75,000 teachers had been connected through the ''Vidyarthi Sathi'' app, which was also facilitating online education for students at night. Around 1.42 lakh students were currently studying through the app during night hours, he claimed.
Choudhary said the government had set a target of providing employment to one crore people over the next five years.
It also aimed to make one crore women ''Lakhpati Didis'' to improve the economic condition of their families, he said.
He further announced that a women's university would be established in Bihar, where all positions, from lower-level employees to the Vice-Chancellor, would be held by women.
Referring to Bihar's higher education institutions, the Chief Minister said Nalanda University had been re-established under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
He said the Prime Minister had also directed the government to establish Vikramshila University, for which 220 acres of land had been allotted.
Choudhary said the government would continue working to improve the state's education system and assured that the dignity and recognition of teachers at schools, colleges and universities, as well as financially unaided teachers, would be maintained.
