Committed to providing all facilities to sportspersons: Delhi CM

New Delhi, May 20 (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday said her government is committed to providing all facilities to Delhi sportspersons, including financial support, so that they don't lag behind in any field.

After inaugurating the Delhi Games-2025 at Talkatora Stadium here today, CM Gupta said that the players of Delhi should get all the facilities which are mandatory for them.

She said, "We have seen during the time of previous governments that due to lack of facilities to Delhi players, they had to go to other states and register their names. We will give all the facilities of sports to the youth so that the players of Delhi stay with Delhi and make Delhi proud.

She said that the Delhi government will provide better facilities to the players as well as financial support to them.

The Delhi government has doubled its sports budget and also quadrupled the prize money of the players so that the players of Delhi do not lag behind in any field.

"If I see a developed Delhi on the lines of a developed India, then it is necessary to adopt this path to bring glory to Delhi through the Delhi games," she said.

The Chief Minister said, "The entire country is proud of the achievements of the Indian Army in Operation Sindoor. What Operation Sindoor did to the terrorists was only soft ball. The picture is yet to come. For that, every citizen of the country should prepare himself. "
