Congress is Telangana’s Villain No.1 : says BRS Chief KCR

Elkathurthy (Telangana), Apr 25 (UNI) Accusing Telangana's Congress government of working against the interests of the state, BRS Supremo K Chandrashekhar Rao on Sunday dubbed the country's grand old party as the "villain No. one" for Telangana.
"In the past or present, the Congress party has always been the villain Number One for Telangana,” the former state chief minister remarked, claiming everyone was aware how the current government was working "against" the state's interests.
Praising the nine years of TRS/BRS rule that ended in 2023, Rao said during this time Telangana excelled in multiple sectors.
He said BRS was not eyeing to bring down the state government and will wait for it to complete its tenure. He called on the party cadre to fight on behalf of the people in the meantime and ensure the common public understands the pitfalls of the current dispensation thoroughly.
Alleging that the Congress dispensation was "undoing" the gains made in the past ten years in just one year, KCR averred that his government had beckoned investments and provided employment to 20 to 25 lakh youth and software exports had increased manifold.
The former CM informed that while he had continued programmes started by Congress regime like aarogyasri, the present government had in its bid to obliterate his legacy discontinued schemes like KCR kit which gave Rs 15,000 and Rs 12,000 to families of newborn girl and boy respectively.
On the economic front, he alleged that the state had fallen in its ranking in the country, leading to a fall in revenues because of misadventures like HYDRAA.
He recalled the role of his party in rekindling the movement for Telangana, which had become subdued, with the blessings of Kondalaxman Bapuji in 2001.
“The statehood was delivered after 14 years of struggle which included giving up power and positions. It finally became a reality as they realised its inevitability with the launch of Vanta Varpu, sakala janula samme. This was done even as the word Telangana was banned from usage by the TDP in the assembly during its tenure,” he said, addressing the rally celebrating 25 years of the foundation of the TRS (now called BRS).
Taking on the BJP, he flayed it for not doing enough for the state over the past 11 years. UNI KNR SSP
