Mumbai , June 5 (UNI) A city court rejected the anticipatory bail application of an advocate who was booked for allegedly forging high court orders and cheating a Delhi-based client to the tune of Rs 2.3 crore, a lawyer said on Thursday.
While rejecting the plea of Vinaykumar Khatu, the court noted that the accused already has two cases against him, wherein he allegedly cheated people posing as an IAS officer, and prima facie materials are available against him. Hence, the court did not grant him bail, especially when the investigation is going on.
A case was registered against the lawyer with Azad Maidan police station for allegedly forging a high court order and allegedly cheating a woman, Urmila Talyarkhan, who had hired him in several legal proceedings since 2014.
