CPI(M) spoils credibility of election process: KPCC President

Thiruvananthapuram, May 16 (UNI) Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President Sunny Joseph MLA on Friday alleged that the CPI(M) has destroyed the credibility of the election process in the State.
The Congress leader expressed his opinion after former Kerala PWD Minister and senior CPI(M) leader revealed that postal votes were tampered with and manipulated by his party during the 1989 Lok Sabha election.
G. Sudhakaran's statement that postal votes were tampered with and corrected in favor of the CPM is just one of the many election sabotages they have committed, he said.
The alleged incident pertains to the 1989 Lok Sabha election from the Alappuzha constituency, where malpractice in postal voting was reportedly carried out.
"Fake voting, booth capture are in the blood of the CPM. They have always participated in the democratic process by subverting democracy. The CPM is the party that has destroyed the credibility of the election process itself."
Opposition leader in Kerala Assembly, VD Satheesan, said "Salute to G Sudhakaran for boldly exposing CPM's unlawful activities. His revelations show how CPM not only fueled political violence but also subverted democracy by manipulating votes. True communists will keep exposing the party's decay."
