CRS inspects Kakiriguma–Lakshmipur Road section in Rayagada division

Bhubaneswar, Oct 1(UNI) Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS), South Eastern Circle, Sumeet Singhal, on Thursday inspected the newly laid second line between Kakiriguma and Lakshmipur Road stations in the Rayagada Division of East Coast Railway, as part of the ongoing Koraput–Singapur Road Doubling Project.
The CRS conducted a detailed inspection of the 15.285 km doubling section from Kakiriguma (Km 45.885) to Lakshmipur Road (Km 61.170).
The inspection included a comprehensive motor trolley inspection of the entire section and speed trials, covering the newly constructed railway infrastructure and other safety related aspects, as part of the statutory process towards opening the section for train operations.

The Koraput–Singapur Road Doubling Project is aimed at enhancing line capacity, improving operational efficiency, facilitating smoother movement of freight and passenger trains and strengthening rail connectivity in the region.
East Coast Railway (ECoR) sources said the inspection of the Kakiriguma–Lakshmipur Road section marks another important step towards completion of the doubling project and further strengthening railway infrastructure in the region.
