Daughters raise India's pride with accurate shooting at Asian Games: Samrat

Patna, Sep 20 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Sunday congratulated and extended his best wishes to Indian shooters Elavenil Valarivan, Sonam Maskar and Vidarsa Vinod for winning the silver medal in the women's 10m air rifle team event at the Asian Games.
Choudhary said the three daughters had enhanced the pride of the Tricolour with their accurate shooting and that their achievement would inspire daughters across the country to pursue their dreams and move forward.
In a message posted on social media platform X , Choudhary congratulated Elavenil Valarivan, Sonam Maskar and Vidarsa Vinod for winning India's first medal at the Asian Games.
He said their silver-medal performance in the women''s 10m air rifle team event was a proud moment for Indian sport and an inspiration for the country''s young women.
India began its shooting campaign at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games with a silver medal. The Indian team finished second with a score of 1,898 points, while China won gold with 1,904.2 points and Japan secured bronze with 1,897.1 points.
Sonam Maskar scored 634.1, Elavenil Valarivan 633.5 and Vidarsa Vinod 630.4 points in the event. Sonam Maskar and Elavenil Valarivan also qualified for the final of the individual 10m air rifle event. UNI RS SAS
