Day temperatures above normal at isolated places over Gangetic West Bengal

Pune, Jun 5 (UNI) Day temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at isolated places over Gangetic West Bengal, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam and Tamil Nadu,

Puducherry and Karaikal.

The day temperatures above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at isolated places over Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Odisha and east Madhya Pradesh; near normal (-1.5°C to 1.5°C) at many places over Assam and Meghalaya and Kerala and Mahe; at most places over Arunachal Pradesh, Saurashtra and Kutch, coastal Karnataka and Lakshadweep; at few places over Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, east Uttar Pradesh, west Rajasthan, Konkan and Goa, Rayalaseema and south Interior Karnataka; at isolated places over Bihar, west Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat Region and Chhattisgarh.

On Wednesday, the highest maximum temperature of 41.1°C was reported at Rajkot (Gujarat).



Hailstorm observed at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh (Shimla), Punjab (Ludhiana) and Haryana (Kaithal).



Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Konkan and Goa and at many places in Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal and coastal Karnataka and at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Odisha, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, Kerala and Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at isolated places in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat State, Marathwada, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rayalseema, Tamil Nadu, interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep.

Mainly dry weather has prevailed in Bihar.

Following observations for the past 24 hrs were recorded at 0830 hrs on Thursday.
