Deaf Kolkata Warriors win IDCA 7th T20 Deaf Indian Premier League

Tirupati, Oct 6 (UNI) Deaf Kolkata Warriors were crowned champions of the 7th T20 Deaf Indian Premier League 2026, organised by the Indian Deaf Cricket Association (IDCA), after four days of competitive cricket in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh.
The Deaf Bangalore Badshahs finished runners-up in the tournament, which featured eight teams from across the country.
The championship was held from October 1 to 4 at KVS Sports Park Cricket Ground, Thummala Gunta, Tirupati, in association with the Deaf Cricket Association of Andhra Pradesh (DCAAP).
The tournament brought together leading deaf cricketers from different parts of India and provided them with a national platform to showcase their sporting talent and competitive spirit.
Aman Chouksey of Deaf Bangalore Badshahs was adjudged Player of the Series. He also won the Best Bowler of the Series and Highest Wicket-Taker awards.
Jitan Nayak of Deaf Kolkata Warriors was named Player of the Match in the final, while his teammate Krrish Manish Prajapati won the Best Batter of the Series award.
Other individual awards included the Super Sixes Award for Deepak Lamba of Deaf Mumbai Stars, Best Wicketkeeper for Umar Ashraf of Deaf Kolkata Warriors, Best Fielder of the Series for Venu Siliveru of Deaf Bangalore Badshahs and the Fastest of the Series award for Samiullah Pathan of Deaf Lucknow Giants.
The eight participating teams were Deaf Hyderabad Eagles, Deaf Bangalore Badshahs, Deaf Lucknow Giants, Deaf Delhi Bulls, Deaf Mumbai Stars, Deaf Kolkata Warriors, Deaf Punjab Lions and Deaf Chennai Blasters.
The closing ceremony was attended by Chevireddy Mohith Reddy, Assembly Coordinator, Chandragiri Constituency, Chittoor, and Madan Mohan, General Manager, Hotel Pai Viceroy, Tirupati, as Guests of Honour.
IDCA President Sumit Jain thanked the players, officials, partners, sponsors and other stakeholders for contributing to the successful conduct of the championship.
IDCA also expressed gratitude to DCAAP and its General Secretary Challagali Raghu for supporting the hosting of the tournament in Andhra Pradesh.
The championship received support from principal sponsor Dr Cyrus Poonawalla and the Villoo Poonawalla Foundation, along with KFC India, Kaizzen, Impact Research & Measurement Pvt. Ltd., RB Foundation and Kences Constructions Pvt. Ltd.
The association acknowledged the support of the BCCI, Deaf International Cricket Council (DICC), Asian Deaf Cricket Association (ADCA), Differently Abled Cricket Council of India (DCCI), Andhra Cricket Association (ACA), DCAAP and Differently Abled Cricket Council of Andhra Pradesh (DACCAP).
The tournament highlighted the importance of sustained competitive opportunities for deaf cricketers and inclusive sporting platforms that enable athletes to develop their skills and compete at the highest levels.
The IDCA thanked the participating teams, players, match officials, umpires, scorers, interpreters, commentators, volunteers, ground staff, support staff and organising committee for their contribution to the successful completion of the championship.
