Defeat BJP-NDA to force Bihar govt to bring reforms: Prashant Kishor

Darbhanga, Oct 8 (UNI) Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor today said the election to the Teachers’ and Graduates’ constituencies was not about forming or removing a government, but an opportunity to make the existing government accountable.
During an interaction with intellectuals in Darbhanga in connection with the Legislative Council elections, Kishor said the NDA government, with the support of 202 MLAs, had become “unrestrained”. He said that while the government could not be removed through the Legislative Council elections, voters could certainly put a check on it.
Kishor appealed to voters to vote “one-sidedly” against the BJP-NDA candidates, saying the election provided an opportunity to send a clear message to the government. “If the BJP-NDA is defeated in this election, the government will be forced to undertake reforms,” he said.
Later talking to journalists, Kishor also criticised the state government over the condition of youths and teachers in Bihar. He claimed that no significant change could be expected in the system over the next four years under the existing arrangement.
He further alleged that people had voted in November for the same system which, according to him, had “destroyed” the education system and forced one crore children to migrate.
Kishor also appealed to voters not to sell their votes for Rs 10,000, arguing that such practices would prevent any meaningful change in the system.
He added that voters in the Teachers’ and Graduates’ constituencies had an important opportunity to make the system accountable and urged them to use their franchise accordingly.
