Delegation from Uripok calls on Manipur Governor, highlights civic concerns

Imphal, July 1 (UNI) A six-member delegation from Uripok Apunba Lup, led by S. Tekendrajit Singh, met Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, at Raj Bhavan today, and submitted a memorandum detailing civic concerns in the Uripok Assembly Constituency.
The issues raised included deteriorating road conditions marked by large potholes, non-functional street lighting, and persistent traffic congestion due to the movement of heavy vehicles through residential areas.
The Governor assured the delegation that the concerns would be communicated to the relevant authorities for necessary action.
Separately, Dr. Anupam Mishra, Vice Chancellor of the Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal, met with the Governor.
During the meeting, Dr. Mishra briefed the Governor on the university's recent initiatives and achievements, particularly in early childhood nutrition, health economics, nutritional economics, and health indicator quantification. He also outlined the institution's ongoing academic advancements.
Governor Bhalla lauded CAU’s contributions, stressing the critical need to prioritize child health and nutrition during early developmental stages.
