Delhi-bound flyover on NH in Palwal to remain closed for three days for repairs

Palwal, Oct 25 (UNI) The Delhi-bound carriageway of a flyover on the National Highway in Palwal will remain completely closed to vehicular traffic for three days from midnight on Sunday to facilitate road strengthening and essential repair work, police said.
The closure will affect motorists travelling from Hodal and Mathura towards Faridabad and Delhi. Vehicles will be diverted to the service road running alongside the flyover during the repair period.
According to a police spokesperson, the affected stretch of the flyover begins opposite the Deputy Commissioner's residence and descends near Pappan Plaza in Palwal. The closure has been imposed in view of technical requirements and safety considerations associated with the repair work.
Traffic Police Station in-charge Inspector Ravikant said the traffic advisory had been issued on the directions of Superintendent of Police Deepti Garg to ensure public safety and minimise inconvenience to commuters.
Under the diversion plan, vehicles coming from Hodal and Mathura will be directed to use the service road instead of taking the flyover near the Deputy Commissioner's residence. The diverted traffic will proceed along the road beneath the flyover, cross the Pappan Plaza intersection and rejoin the main National Highway towards Faridabad and Delhi.
Police said additional traffic personnel would be deployed at key intersections, road crossings and diversion points to regulate vehicle movement and prevent congestion during the closure.
With a substantial increase in traffic expected on the service road, motorists have been advised to maintain safe distances, follow lane discipline and avoid overtaking. Commuters have also been urged to allow additional travel time to account for possible delays.
Police cautioned drivers against travelling on the wrong side of the road or disregarding instructions issued by traffic personnel, warning that such violations could create safety risks and worsen congestion.
Commuters facing emergencies or traffic-related disruptions can contact the district traffic helpline or dial 112 for assistance, the police spokesperson said.
The closure will remain in force for three days from midnight on Sunday, and motorists travelling towards Faridabad and Delhi have been advised to plan their journeys accordingly.UNI KK AAB
