Dolly Parton collaborates with Motley Crue on new version of classic track ‘Home Sweet Home’

Los Angeles, June 24 (UNI) Country music icon Dolly Parton in an unexpected twist, joined heavy metal titans Motley Crue on a new version of the band's classic 1985 ballad ‘Home Sweet Home’, which is taken from an upcoming best-of compilation.

The album, titled ‘From The Beginning’, features 20 songs, ranging from the debut album opener ‘Live Wire’ through to 2024's ‘Cancelled’ single, navigating their entire music career, and featuring songs from every album, reports Louder Sound.

Parton’s collaboration with the glam metal icons on ‘Home Sweet Home’, is part of the band’s reworked release of the original recording of their famous ballad featuring founding guitarist Mick Mars rather than an entirely new version, with a part of the proceeds said to go for childcare home Covenant House.

'Home Sweet Home' was first released in 1985 as a single from our ‘Theatre Of Pain’ album," the band said.

"For an icon like Dolly Parton to sing on a song that has not only meant so much to us but to all the fans through the years, is a career high that means a lot to us.

“We couldn’t be happier to celebrate the 40th anniversary of ‘Home Sweet Home’ in this special way, and we’re excited to share this version of the song with all the Dolly and Motley fans around the world.”

"That we were able to unite with Dolly to raise awareness for homeless youth and the amazing work of Covenant House, which provides them safe housing and care, makes it even more special," they add. "We hope you’ll enjoy ‘Home Sweet Home’ featuring Dolly Parton as much as Dolly and we enjoyed creating it.”

“It was an honour and a joy working in the studio on Motley Crüe’s 40th Anniversary re-release of Home Sweet Home," says Parton, in her first public statement since sharing her recipe for beef pot roast single-serve on YouTube earlier this month. "I was so pleased that they would ask me to sing on such a classic." UNI ANV SSP
