Drug peddler held with 45 kg ganja worth Rs 11.25 lakh in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, June 25 (UNI) The city police today arrested a drug peddler and seized 45 kgs of ganja worth Rs 11.25 lakh from his possession.
In a joint operation, the IS Sadan Police and the South-East Zone Task Force apprehended Janapala Harikrishna (28), a cab driver from Yadagirigutta, at IS Sadan X Road while he was transporting the contraband in a car.
He had reportedly sourced the ganja from Odisha in collaboration with two other individuals—Sarath Kumar Sahu from Sambalpur, Odisha (supplier), and Thunam Aravind from Mahabubabad (peddler)—both of whom are currently absconding.
According to police, Harikrishna, lured by the promise of high profits, travelled to Kalimela in Odisha with Aravind to procure the ganja. The duo returned to Telangana with the consignment and stored it while searching for buyers. Acting on Aravind’s instructions, Harikrishna attempted to transport the contraband to Mangalhat in Hyderabad but was intercepted en route.
Further investigation is underway to apprehend the remaining accused.
