Ex-CM Biren says a crucial time for people of Manipur

Imphal, June 9 (UNI) Former Chief Minister N Biren Singh said it's a crucial period for the people of Manipur.

Biren left for New Delhi to discuss the situation in Manipur on Monday after the arrest of a leader of Arambai Tengol.

The former CM didn't reveal the details of his visit but told media persons at Imphal airport that all should take up any movement by considering all the pros and cons.

This is not the time to speak, and if anybody wants to speak, they should do so after measuring every word, he added.

Manipur was devastated by a flood, which was followed by a ten-day strike by Arambai Tengol ( AT) from Sunday to protest the arrest of one of its leaders by CBI.

Cutting across party lines, MLAs of the state have appealed to all to work together to bring peace and normalcy in the state.

A team of BJP leaders led by A Sharda, President, BJP Manipur, is also currently in New Delhi to discuss the situation with central leaders.

After the crisis broke out on May 3, 2023 so far the Prime Minister has not given an appointment to the BJP leaders or Opposition parties from the state.
