Farhan gets T20 captaincy, Babar returns to ODI fold

Lahore, Oct 5 (UNI): Sahibzada Farhan, who led Pakistan at the recently concluded Asian Games, has been handed the T20I captaincy for the three-match series against Sri Lanka, while Babar Azam returns to the ODI squad for the tri-series involving England and Sri Lanka.
Farhan will lead Pakistan in the T20 format, while Shaheen Shah Afridi retains the ODI captaincy as the team prepares for a seven-match tri-series.
The move gives Farhan the opportunity to take charge of Pakistan's T20 side after his stint as captain at the Asian Games, with the selectors opting for a different leadership combination across the two white-ball formats.
The 15-member T20I squad comprises Farhan, Abdul Samad, Abrar Ahmed, Arafat Minhas, Fakhar Zaman, Hasan Nawaz, Muhammad Imran Randhawa, Khawaja Nafay (wk), Maaz Sadaqat, Naseem Shah, Razaullah, Saim Ayub, Mohammad Salman Mirza, Shadab Khan and Sufiyan Moqim.
Babar's inclusion headlines the 16-member ODI squad led by Shaheen. The squad also includes Salman Ali Agha, Arafat Minhas, Faheem Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman, Muhammad Ghazi Ghori (wk), Haris Rauf, Hasan Nawaz, Razaullah, Saad Baig (wk), Saim Ayub, Shadab Khan and Sufiyan Moqim.
The T20I series against Sri Lanka begins in Rawalpindi on October 9, with the remaining matches scheduled for October 11 and 13.
The ODI tri-series featuring Pakistan, England and Sri Lanka will begin in Rawalpindi before moving to Lahore for the remaining league matches and the final.
The selections see Pakistan adopt separate leadership combinations in the two white-ball formats, with Farhan taking charge of the T20I side and Shaheen continuing as ODI captain.
