FDDI Hyd conducts retail training for defence personnel under DGR resettlement programme

Hyderabad, June 25 (UNI) The Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI), Hyderabad, is conducting a Certificate Course in Retail Management for 22 defense personnel as part of the Directorate General of Resettlement’s (DGR) resettlement programme under the Ministry of Defence.
The course, aimed at equipping ex-servicemen with industry-relevant skills for a smooth transition to civilian careers, is being held from 0930 to 1630 hours on weekdays. It covers essential aspects of retail such as customer service, inventory management, sales techniques, and modern retail operations. Similar short-term training programmes are also being conducted at other FDDI campuses across the country.
Brigadier Rohit Mehta, Additional Director General, and Commander Rahil, who attended the session virtually, emphasised the importance of such initiatives in supporting defense personnel in their second careers.
FDDI Hyderabad Executive Director Dr Narsimhugari Tej Lohit Reddy (IAS) expressed pride in training the veterans, noting that their discipline and dedication would make them assets in the retail sector, a FDDI statement said on Wednesday.
