FICCI FLO, Prevest DenPro jointly train women Panchayat leaders on grassroots governance, digital tools

Jammu, Sep 24 (UNI) Focussing on strengthening grassroots leadership, addressing village-level governance challenges and using digital tools to improve local administration, FICCI FLO Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh (JKL) jointly with with Prevest DenPro, organised a day-long capacity-building workshop for women Gram Panchayat leaders from across the Jammu region.
The workshop saw enthusiastic participation, with women leaders sharing governance challenges from their villages and discussing practical solutions.
Amit Shukla was the guest speaker while Amar Shukla from Empower Panchayat also addressed the participants.
He led sessions on Panchayat leadership, the role of standing committees, Digital Gram Sabha and Panchayat Mitra, a digital tool designed to guide leaders through local issues and governance processes.
The event was attended by Varsha Bansal, Chairperson, FICCI FLO JKL; Aarti Chowdhary, Immediate Past Chairperson, FICCI FLO JKL and Namrata Modi, Executive Director at Prevest Dental.
FICCI FLO JKL thanked Modi for her generous support and collaboration in making the workshop possible.
“Through our work with women at the grassroots, we saw a clear need to equip Panchayat leaders with practical knowledge, confidence and ongoing support. This programme grew out of that need,” said Varsha Bansal.
The workshop forms part of a 15-day capacity-building programme initiated by FICCI FLO JKL in collaboration with Empower Panchayat.
Participants are encouraged to engage Gram Sabha members, identify village issues, conduct Gram Sabhas and put practical solutions into action.
They also received one-year access to the Digital Gram Sabha platform, Panchayat Mitra and a learning platform for continued support.
The active participation at the Jammu workshop highlighted the interest among women Panchayat leaders in practical training and digital tools. FICCI FLO JKL hopes to extend the programme to more women leaders across Jammu and Kashmir.
