FICCI FLO's Marathon 4.0 in Jammu promotes fitness, tourism, women’s skilling

Jammu, Oct 4 (UNI) The FICCI FLO Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh successfully hosted the fourth edition of the FICCI FLO JKL Marathon in collaboration with Jammu Tourism here under the theme “Discover the Undiscovered".
The marathon witnessed around 750 registrations across the 3 KM Fun Run, 5 KM, 10 KM and 21 KM Half Marathon categories.
The event brought together fitness, tourism and social impact, with participants experiencing the scenic and lesser-explored Parmandal–Uttarbeni tourism circuit.
The proceeds from the marathon will contribute towards establishing a women’s skilling centre, reinforcing FICCI FLO JKL’s commitment to empowering women through skill development and livelihood opportunities.
The marathon was flagged off by Dr. Vikas Gupta, Director Tourism, Jammu, Aijaz Qaiser, Joint Director Tourism, Jammu, and Anissa Nabi.
The valedictory function was graced by Dr. Devansh Yadav, Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, as Chief Guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Varsha Bansal, Chairperson, FICCI FLO JKL, said, “Marathon 4.0 brings together fitness, tourism and social impact. Through ‘Discover the Undiscovered’, we wanted participants to experience a beautiful, lesser-explored part of Jammu, while every step contributed towards creating opportunities for women through skilling. The response of 750 registrations has been extremely encouraging.”
Dr. Devansh Yadav, Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, said, “The FICCI FLO JKL Marathon at Four A Resort is a wonderful platform to promote fitness, community participation and our beautiful surroundings. Linking the event with women’s skilling makes the initiative even more meaningful. I congratulate FICCI FLO JKL for bringing these important aspects together.”
Dr. Vikas Gupta highlighted the tourism potential of the Parmandal–Uttarbeni route, noting that initiatives such as the marathon can encourage people to explore Jammu’s lesser-known destinations while promoting fitness.
The marathon witnessed enthusiastic participation across age groups, with runners displaying remarkable endurance and sporting spirit.
Kanupriya Garg, Sports Initiative Lead, FICCI FLO JKL and Race Director, played a key role in planning and executing the marathon and coordinating race-day operations.
The event was attended and supported by the FICCI FLO JKL leadership and Executive Committee, including Past Chairperson Ruchika Gupta, Immediate Past Chairperson Aarti Chowdhary, Senior Vice Chairperson Rupika Sahai, Vice Chairperson Sona Mehta, Treasurer Shipra Aggarwal, Joint Treasurer Tanisha Pallan and Joint Secretary Deepti Gandotra.
The overall winners across the three competitive categories were, 5 KM: Men – Himanshu (21:18), Vishwajeet Kotwal (23:02), Raghaveer (23:29); Women – Suvidha Sarin (29:25), Pooja Chib (37:42), Kiran Kundu (37:53).
10 KM: Men – Eklove Sharma (38:01), Deepak Kumar (39:37), Ramanand (44:19); Women – Manminder Kaur (50:59), Seema Sharma (1:03:02), Dr Pratiksha Raghuwanshi (1:06:24).
21.1 KM Half Marathon: Men – Sunil Kumar (1:27:25), Ram Jee Raina (1:47:11), Nikhil Rasgotra (1:48:01); Women – Mansha Dubey (2:19:28).
The fourth edition of the FICCI FLO JKL Marathon reinforced the chapter’s commitment to creating initiatives that combine fitness, tourism, women’s empowerment, wellness and social responsibility, while inspiring participants to “Discover the Undiscovered.”
