Fire at Bandra's VN Sphere Mall, doused after 3-hr operation; no casualty

Mumbai, Oct 30 (UNI) A Level-II fire erupted on the third floor of VN Sphere Mall on Mumbai's busy Linking Road in Bandra West on Friday morning and was brought under control after an intensive firefighting operation, officials said.
The blaze was reported at around 0602 hrs at the Ground-plus-five-storey commercial building situated near Dhanraj Restaurant. The Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) classified the incident as a Level-II fire and immediately mobilised additional emergency response resources.
Fire brigade personnel, local police, representatives of the electricity distribution company concerned, a 108 emergency medical ambulance, and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) ward staff were deployed at the site to tackle the situation.
The firefighting operation continued for nearly three hours, with personnel working to contain the flames and prevent them from spreading to other parts of the building.
The fire was finally extinguished at 0855 hrs. No injuries or casualties were reported, providing relief to authorities amid the emergency response.
The exact cause of the fire and the extent of damage to the commercial premises were not immediately known.
