Five people, including two policemen sent to jail for liquor ban law violation

Patna, May 31 (UNI) A total of five people, including two policemen, were arrested and sent to jail after they were found in an inebriated condition near Gandak colony under Bhagwan Bazar police station area in the Saran district of Bihar.

Police said here on Saturday that five people, including three policemen, were arrested when they were found consuming liquor near the Gandak colony. Those arrested were an Assistant Sub Inspector, a Homeguard Jawan, and three local businessmen, police added.

" After arrest, they were sent to a government hospital for medical tests where it was confirmed that they had consumed liquor ", police said, adding that all of them were sent to jail after confirmation of their liquor consumption.

Assistant Sub Inspector and Homeguard Jawan were placed under suspension with immediate effect after the incident, police informed.
