Nephew kills social worker uncle over land dispute in Jharkhand

Giridih, Jun 1 (UNI) A 65-year-old social worker was allegedly killed by his nephew over a land dispute in Giridih district of Jharkhand, police said on Sunday.
Police said that Kartik Das was murdered by his nephew in Karodih under the Jamua police station area on Saturday evening.
Kartik Das's son, Laxman Prasad Das, alleged that his father was attacked by his cousins Devanandan Das, Ramkrishna Das, Puran Das and others with rods, spades and sticks over a land dispute near their house.
Kartik Das was taken to the community health centre in Jamua, where he was declared dead due to severe head injuries.
Local people claimed that the death could have been prevented if doctors were present at the hospital and treatment had been provided on time.
The police sent the body for post-mortem.
The case is being investigated.
