Four Blinkit delivery workers held for assaulting colleague over personal rivalry in Gurugram

Gurugram, Oct 8 (UNI) Gurugram Police have arrested four Blinkit delivery workers, including the alleged main accused, for assaulting a colleague and his two cousins outside a Blinkit store in Baliwas following a personal dispute, officials said on Thursday.
Three of the accused, identified as Devraj, Shobhit and Gaurav, were arrested from Gwal Pahari on October 7, while the alleged main accused, Sachin, had been arrested earlier.
According to police, the attack took place around 9.10 pm on September 29 when the complainant was standing outside the Blinkit store in Baliwas.
The victim alleged that Devraj, Sachin and three to four other people confronted him and began assaulting him. One of the attackers allegedly struck his right hand with a stick. His cousins, Rahul and Rajesh, were also assaulted when they became involved in the confrontation.
Police received information about the injured man from Neelkanth Hospital in DLF Phase-3 on September 30. A team from Gwal Pahari police post reached the hospital, but doctors initially declared him unfit to record a statement.
The following day, police recorded the victim's complaint and obtained his medical examination report before registering a case under relevant legal provisions at DLF Phase-1 police station.
During interrogation, police said that it emerged that the accused and the complainant worked as delivery personnel with Blinkit.
An earlier altercation involving Devraj, Sachin and the complainant had allegedly led to personal enmity, which investigators believe triggered the assault.
The three accused arrested on October 7 have been identified as Devraj and Gaurav, both residents of Rawat Dhani in Bandhwari, and Shobhit, a resident of Bandhwari village near Valmiki Temple.
Police said all four accused named in the arrests had been taken into custody, and further investigation was underway.
Investigators are examining the circumstances of the assault and the involvement of other persons mentioned in the complaint.
