GHIAL launches direct Tashkent service, boosts South India-Central Asia connectivity

Hyderabad, Sep 29 (UNI) GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited (GHIAL) on Tuesday launched direct air connectivity between Hyderabad and Tashkent, Uzbekistan, with the inaugural Centrum Air service, establishing a new link between South India and Central Asia.
The service will operate twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays from Hyderabad, providing passengers from Telangana and neighbouring regions with direct access to Tashkent.
The inaugural flight was marked by a ceremony attended by senior officials of GMR Hyderabad International Airport, Centrum Air and other stakeholders.
GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited CEO Kadhir Kadhiravan said the new route would create opportunities for business, tourism, education, healthcare and cultural exchanges between India and Uzbekistan.
He noted Hyderabad’s growing importance as a technology, business and healthcare hub.
Aeroprime Group Executive Director and CEO Abhishek Goyal said Hyderabad was a natural addition to Centrum Air’s expanding Indian network and would provide travellers with a convenient gateway to Central Asia.
With the addition of Tashkent, Hyderabad Airport’s network has expanded to 27 international and 74 domestic destinations. The new route is also expected to strengthen access to Central Asia’s growing technology and healthcare markets and facilitate onward connections to other destinations in the region, according to a GHIAL statement.
