Gurugram Police deploy patrol teams near IILM University amid concerns over campus clashes

Gurugram, Oct 8 (UNI) Gurugram Police have stepped up security around IILM University in Sector 54, following concerns over incidents of fighting on the campus, deploying an emergency response vehicle and a motorcycle patrol to strengthen surveillance and prevent further disturbances, officials said on Thursday.
The measures were discussed during a police-university coordination meeting attended by Sector-53 police station SHO Inspector Narendra Kumar and university Registrar Colonel Umashankar.
According to police, the meeting focused on incidents of fighting reported on the university premises and measures required to prevent similar confrontations.
Officials reviewed security arrangements within and around the campus and stressed the need for closer coordination between the police and university administration to ensure a safe environment for students and staff.
Police said Emergency Response Vehicle ERV-291 and Rider-29 had been deployed in the vicinity of the university to conduct regular patrols, maintain surveillance and respond promptly to any disturbance.
The university administration and police also discussed mechanisms for sharing information and addressing potential disputes before they escalate into violence.
Police said regular communication with educational institutions would continue as part of efforts to maintain law and order and prevent incidents affecting student safety.
