Police said fines totalling Rs 4,10,94,600 were imposed through the 21,326 challans issued during on-ground enforcement. The figure did not include any separately assessed fines arising from camera-generated challans.
The traffic police have intensified surveillance along National Highway-48, Dwarka Expressway and Mumbai Expressway to curb speeding, dangerous lane changes and other violations contributing to road accidents.
Cameras installed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), along with drone technology, are being used to identify motorists violating traffic regulations and initiate enforcement action.
Alongside the crackdown, police conducted road safety awareness programmes at 15 locations through the Suraksha Ratha initiative, reaching more than 415 residents and students.
Participants were educated about traffic regulations, emergency response number 112 and traffic helpline 1095, besides the importance of observing speed limits, following lane discipline, wearing helmets and seat belts, and avoiding drunken driving.
Gurugram Traffic Police appealed to motorists to strictly follow traffic rules and cooperate with enforcement agencies to reduce accidents and ensure safer movement on city roads and expressways.
